It is understandable that a country full of history and culture should want to charge people to visit their attractions. The admission fees are used for the cleaning services, the employees, and preservation of the attraction. The country is not trying to rip you off, but sometimes admission fees are too high. Take a look at the list below for some of the best tourist attractions in the world that are FREE! These attractions are not just free for certain age groups, citizens of the country, or because of the day. These attractions are completely free, no hidden fees! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Trevi Fountain: Rome, Italy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Trevi Fountain plays a huge role in Rome\u2019s history. Over\n2,000 years ago, the water supply in Rome was diminishing quickly, and legend\nstates that a young virgin led the people to the spot of the current day Trevi\nFountain and found a Bay of water. The Trevi Fountain was built as a tribute to\nthe god of the sea. You can visit this historical monument for free!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Las Vegas Sign: Las Vegas, Nevada<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. This is only true if you do not snap a picture of yourself with the Las Vegas sign and post it on social media. This sign is a staple of “Sin City.” Thousands of tourists pass by this sign and cannot help but stop to admire it, especially since it a free to look at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Freedom Trail: Boston, Massachusetts <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Freedom Trail has special markers on the ground along a\n2.5-mile long trail. You can visit 16 of the most historical and important\nmonuments of Boston. Since this attraction is free, you can visit any time of\nthe day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Hollywood Sign: Los Angles, California <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Along the Hollywood Hills, this famous sign was created in 1923 to draw in people from around the world for real estate purposes. No one could have imagined that the Hollywood Sign<\/a> would be such a large part of Hollywood history and after all these years still one of the biggest free tourist attractions located in Los Angles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Church of our Lady: Bruges, Belgium <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This tower is the second largest brickwork tower in the world! This church was built in the mid 13th<\/sup> century and houses great works of art for tourist like The Madonna<\/em> by Michelangelo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. The Berlin Wall: Berlin, Germany <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 to divide the city both\nphysically and politically.  Many\nfamilies have torn apart because of this wall. Luckily this wall dividing the\ncountry came to an end in 1989. Although most of the wall has been torn down,\nyou can still visit the sections that are left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Smithsonian Museums: Washington D.C. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

All of the Smithsonian Museums<\/a>, including the zoo, is free and open to the public. You can visit these museums every day except on December 25th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Plaza de Espa\u00f1a: Seville, Spain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This plaza was built in 1928 to showcase the talents of the\nSpanish people, including their newest technology exhibits. There is a river\nthat follows through the canal of the plaza. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Notre Dame Cathedral: Paris, France<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The French Gothic style architecture that encompasses the\nNorte Dame Cathedral attracts visitors from all over the world. This cathedral\ntook almost 200 years to complete, but the result was worth waiting for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Central Park: New York City, New York<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

 With over 40 million visitors\na year, Central Park is the most visited park in the United States. Across over\n700 acres of land, the park is home to gorgeous gardens, different botanical\nspecies, and trees. 11. St. Peter’s Basilica: Vatican City<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

St. Peter’s Basilica was constructed in 1626 and serves as\nthe papal residence for the Pope of the Catholic Religion. This gorgeous\nBasilica includes some of the best artwork and sculptures of the world. The\nfrescos are enlightening, and the statues are larger than life.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. Gateway of India: Mumbai, India<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At number twelve we have the Gateway of India for free tourist attractions you should check out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Standing at 85 feet tall, this structure is a pillar in the city of Mumbai. The gateway was built as a tribute to King George V and Queen Mary. Unfortunately, this structure has been at the center of many terrorist attacks throughout the recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13. Belfast Castle: Belfast, Ireland <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Since the original Belfast Castle burnt to the ground in\n1708, the people of Ireland wanted to build a new castle. The new Belfast\nCastle belongs to the Earls of Shaftesbury. The castle re-opened to the public\nin 1988, and there has been free admission since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14. National September 11th<\/sup> Memorial: New York City<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It is very unfortunate that a tragic day like September 11,\n2001, ruined the lives of hundreds of people. The city of New York has built a\nplace to honor the fallen people due to the terrorist attacks on that day. All\nthe names of the people who perished on that day are carved into the granite\nstructure that surrounds the empty holes, now fountains, where the Twin Towers\nstood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

15. The Alamo: San Antonio, Texas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRemember the Alamo\u201d is a phrase often heard in movies,\nshows, and daily life. This was the site of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. This\nbattle occurred because of  Texans hoping\nto declare independence from Mexico. Hundreds of men lost their lives during\nthis battle, but they won the fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

16. Light Show at Eiffel Tower <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although it may not be free to visit the top of the Eiffel Tower, you can check out the free light show at night. This spectacular show attractions hundreds of visitors each day for a free show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

17. Moscow Free Tour: Moscow, Russia <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
