While the land of Disney is the happiest place in the world, it is not the only place to see Orlando, Florida. There are plenty of opportunities to see great places throughout this picturesque city. Why spend your Orlando vacation stuck at the Disney theme parks when there is a whole world of adventure waiting for you. If you visit any of the places on this list, you will be in for a treat.

1. Visit Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is full of adventure and magical experiences. You cannot visit Orlando without going to this theme park, but that should be the extent of Disney parks you visit (unless you have kids). This theme park is not only great for children but also adults. You can revisit your childhood in this amazing theme park. You will see characters from Disney movies and shows spread out throughout the park.

2. Eat dinner at a themed restaurant

Themed restaurants are a big hit with the locals and tourists in Orlando. You can check out the House of Blues or the Rainforest Café. Even though these locations are located inside a theme park, they have their own styles and themes.

3. Stay at a Disney World Resort

If you are a huge Disney lover then you will want to stay at a Disney World Resort. Any of the Disney resorts give you easy access to the theme parks.

4. Go to a dinner and show at Al Capone’s

Al Capone was known as the top Mafia boss to be afraid of, but there is nothing to fear at this Al Capone’s restaurant. You can enjoy a good show and great food at this restaurant.

5. Go kayaking

Kayaking is not made for everyone, but if you love the outdoors then you should go on Florida Bioluminescence Kayaking Tour. This is unlike any kayaking experience you have ever been on. The best time of year to catch the glow in the dark jellyfish is from May-November. There are only six of these places in the world, so take advantage of this one while you can.

6. Enjoy a spa day

No vacation trip is complete without a spa day. There are plenty of spas located around the city of Orlando or in many resorts. Check out The Salt Room Spa and enjoy a relaxing massage, which is one of the top things to do in Orlando for couples.

7. Check out Ripley’s Believe or Not Museum

Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum has the coolest and most interesting artifacts. The outside structure of the “upside down” building is enough to make you want to check it out.

8. Go on a boat tour

Winter Park is a great place to enjoy a boat tour with your significant other. The romantic green covered park is filled with beautiful flowers and stunning views.

Lake Baldwin Trail is a top spot to take a bike ride. This trail is only 2 and a half miles long and it is perfect for bike rides, walks, and jogs. The scenery is beautiful along this trail. As the sun comes up and morning sets in, the sun becomes increasingly hotter, so put on sun protection.

10. Go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

If you loved the Harry Potter books or movies, then you need to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! The experience of being at this attraction will make you feel like you are a part of the movie. You can pretend to pick out a wand at Ollivander’s or get some tricks and treats from Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.

11. Check out the Charles Homer Morse Museum of American Art

Louis Tiffany was a major designer in the late 1800’s. His artwork and collection can be viewed at this museum in Orlando. His artwork included pottery, furniture, and jewelry. You may be tempted to buy the jewelry, but it is not for sale.

12. Go to a Flea Market

While there may be flea markets in your hometown, nothing compares to Orlando’s Flea Market. This flea market is the largest in the United States. One man’s trash can be another man’s treasure at this market.

13. Go on the Orlando Eye

The Orlando Eye is a 400 ft long Ferris Wheel. If you are afraid of heights, then this may not be the best place for you to visit. If you do like heights, then this Ferris Wheel takes you on an unforgettable journey.

14. Head to the beach

Cocoa Beach is considered Orlando’s top beach. The white, soft sand is the best place to lay out your towel and catch some sun.

15. Visit Orlando’s Wetland Parks

Orlando has a great wildlife preservation program set in place and the wetland parks are spectacular to visit. The scenic view of the park is breathtaking.

16. Paint on the Pho Hoa Wall

If you get permission to paint on the Pho Hoa Wall, then do it. This wall is a public display by graffiti artists. Artists from around the world ask for permission to paint or draw on this wall. The inspiration that comes from this artwork is beautiful.

17. Go on an Airboat Ride

While the name may imply flying, an airboat ride does not fly. This boat ride will take you through the swamps of Orlando. You can catch a glimpse of the alligators that swim in the water. Just be careful and do not try to catch a gator, they are not friendly animals.

18. Kennedy Space Center

If you are an astronaut in training or love NASA, then you will want to check out the Kennedy Space Center. You can check out the Shuttle Launch Experience or the Astronaut Memorial. Although this attraction is located close to an hour outside of Orlando, it is definitely worth the time to visit.
