People like to travel to foreign countries to experience new, exciting adventures, and to experience some of the most popular tourists attractions. The places in their backyard are not adventurous enough, and people want to explore. There is no shame is wanting to explore the world and visit the most popular tourists attractions. You have probably heard of the attractions listed below, but do you know where they are located?  If you have never left your home country or state, then you may not know where certain tourist attractions are located. The Statue of Liberty was presented to New York City as a peace offering from France. But did you know that outside of the Musée d’Orsay in France there is a smaller version of the Statue of Liberty? This statue is said to be the twin sister of the one given to New York in 1886. Millions of tourists visit this attraction a year, but it is only accessible via boat or ferry.

2. Colosseum: Rome, Italy

The Colosseum is a huge part of Rome’s history, both past, and present. This monument represents Rome’s struggles and triumphs over the years. The Colosseum was built over 2,000 years ago and was used for gladiator fights and animal slaughtering. With a small fee, you can visit this monument and the neighboring Roman Forum.

3. Taj Mahal, India

The Taj Mahal is the most beautiful monument in India. In 1632, the Mughal emperor wanted to build a burial site for his wife Mahal who had died during childbirth. The Persian and Mughal culture come together to create this masterpiece.

4. DisneySea: Tokyo, Japan

Seven theme areas are connected to make DisneySea theme park come to life. This theme park is based on the nautical view of Disney. The Aqua Sphere and Mermaid Lagoon are a huge hit among the visitors of this theme park.

This pyramid is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in Giza. Around 2560B.C., this pyramid was built to be used as a tomb. Tons of limestone and granite imported from local villages and countries were used to build this pyramid.

8. Burj Khalifa: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Since 2008, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. This amazing building had 163 floors and was built of aluminum, steel, concrete and glass. It took over five years to build, and this building was opened to the public in 2010.

9. Eiffel Tower: Paris, France

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited attractions in Paris. This tower was officially opened in 1889 after two years of construction and was used as an observation tower.

At number ten, out of all the popular tourists attractions in California, the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is where the biggest stars in Hollywood have their names written in a star that is engraved in the walkway. There are five categories to define a Hollywood star and there are currently over 2,700 stars on this walk of fame.

11. Louvre: Paris, France

The Louvre is the largest museum in France and carries over 30,000 artifacts from different periods of history throughout the world. Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous painting of the Mona Lisa is housed at the Louvre for the whole world to admire.

The Grand Bazaar is one of the largest and oldest markets in the world. Back in the 15th century, the trading world was at its peak for Istanbul, and the people decided it was a great place to build a covered market. As you walk through this market, you will notice many ancient artifacts and tools still being used today.

The Great Wall of China was built to protect the country from invaders and intruders. This wall took over ten years to finish but it was completed in 206 B.C. Tourist can walk along this wall, but it is quite the workout. It stretches out over 5,000 miles.
